Because of a local !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! , my local news station is doing a human interest story on car culture. It's going to be a juxtaposition of an older man talking about his old car versus me and my wife's Mazdaspeed3. He will be talking about how he doesn't think young people are car enthusiasts anymore, and I have to defend my generation as well as provide some ideas on how to attract more people to the gearhead crowd.

No pressure.

Be sure to wear your hat backwards. Say "Yo" "Tyte" and "VTEC" as often as possible. Play up the popularity of street racing while on drugs and having unprotected sex.

Don't blow it man!

I'm one who crosses all the lines - I am a mechanically inclined person who gets it on engines and carburetors. Similarly, I love EFI and modifying computers to gain power. I'm not a big fan of fart cans or open harley pipes though.

I talked about how car culture is slowly evolving to include other areas, but I blamed boring cars on the government. I'm primarily focusing on how fun and engaging cars can also be reliable, daily-drivable practical cars. I referenced the OPPO post about how auto enthusiasts look to the rest of the world. I also talked about rally, because, well...it's me.

Talk about the "new classics" and the resurgence of Detroit's cheap horsepower, and how much easier YouTube tutorials and online enthusiast forums etc make it to get interested and share knowledge.
